Gather pledge donations and participate in this inspiring and beneficial community walk and paddle, held in conjunction with the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation to support the important work of the Cancer Resource Centers.
The event will start just east of Highway One, south of the historic village of Mendocino, CA. The three mile walking course follows the scenic, unpaved Big River Road to the 1.5 mile marker, and then back to the Big River beach. The paddle will start from the Big River Beach boat launch or from Catch-a-Canoe and will progress as far up Big River as desired. This year will have walking and paddle docents that will discuss the local watershed, history and naturalist interests of Big River. Local musical group Mixed Nuts will add to the festive feel of the event. After the walk, enjoy some refreshments and a ceremony to honor loved ones who have faced cancer. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather!
By gathering pledges, you will help support
the important work of the Cancer Resource Center. We encourage all participants to gather at least 10 pledges from family, friends, co-workers, and local businesses. CRC encourages everyone to raise pledges in honor or memory of a loved one who has faced cancer. Registration fee is a suggested donation of $25 for adults and $10 for children (walk or paddle). Participants can register online via PayPal (below) or by phone at (707) 937-3833, or by visiting the office, or at the event. All cash and check pledges collected can be turned in at our office at 45040 Calpella St. in Mendocino, or at the event.

 The prize for the participant who raises the most over $1,000 will be a mountain bike generously donated by Catch-a-Canoe.

All proceeds will benefit the Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino County. CRCMC, a grassroots organization, has been working since 1995 to improve the quality of life for those in Mendocino County facing cancer. We provide a wide range of information, support, and advocacy assistance, including medical appointment preparedness assistance, appointment recording and summarization. All of our services are offered free of charge and all of our efforts are spent in Mendocino County.
